The government has asked us nothing of putting this to a consensual vote. Its not even being considered by the lower house because of that bloody SA Minister Michael Atkinson. I would seriously prefer the Australian government to think logically on this issue as opposed to banning everything out of a state of panic that seems to stem from a misguided sense to protect our children from the world.

We must continue to petition the government to make this change to the legislation so we're not in the dino-ages. Though with this new rating there should be new rules written specifically for interactive media.

I find it so sad that often games get rejected by our review board, with the criteria for media to be banned having to usually involve 'Actual rape of persons, bestiality, content to insight pedophilia and child porn.'
Do we honestly as Australians consider the sometimes violent nature of video games to be even in the same category as the aforementioned material? Of course we don't! But its not up to us, not yet at least. It'll be a long road but we're making ground and one day i hope we will have an <R18+> rating, but for now its up to the public to make our voice heard.

Find petitions online, sign them, express your concern for the lack of the adult rating and the unessential censorship that is forced upon us, and most of all, be rational. Don't write to a minister saying "Change the fucking way things are or i'll kill you and your family" Like a bunch of stupid people have done to the previously mentioned Michael Atkinson and his family, only further concreting a negative outlook of the public face of gamers.

Be civil. But be firm in your belief.

Also, if you're Australian and live in SA, vote "Games4Croydon" to get Michael Atkinson out of the damn chair so we can make some positive changes.

Today is the day that pauralotter14 and i are getting back together, some of you know us, some of you have met us and we've gotten to know you too, and i'm sure that when you did meet us you thought we were already together, well we should have been the whole time, 6 months i wasn't dating laura and its 6 months i've gotta make up for by being the sweetest i can be to her.
